The Hindu's Hindutva Delusion

Travis Bickle is a ticking time bomb. He is a fictional character and for all purposes walks around like every other normal person. You would find it hard to find something unpleasant or unusual about him. Yet, somewhere in the recesses of his mind he wants to lash out at society, kill a presidential candidate and slaughter all the pimps and scumbags in his city. He even inspired John Hinckley’s real life attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan. Let’s blame Martin Scorsese?

Mark David Chapmanwalked around with ‘Catcher in the Rhye’ by J.D. Salinger. He was quite obsessed with that book which talked about phoneys in society. The book has 26 chapters. Chapman wasn’t satisfied that there was no murder or proper justice in the end and that there should have been a chapter 27. He writes the 27^th chapter by shooting and killing John Lennon. Let’s blame J.D. Salinger?

That’s not all even CharlesManson found secret messages in the Beatlessong “Helter Skelter” and was also inspired by the Bible for his killing spree. Let’s blame the Bible and the Beatles? Closer home, India’s greatest serial killer, Raman Raghav had every belief and governments to blame for his lunacy.

The latest to join the list of deranged men who found motivation in various writings is Anders Breivik. The Norwegian man who carried out blasts and shot and killed over 90 of his fellow citizens, many of them children. He’s written a manifesto and claims to have been inspired by many. Among his inspirations is India’s Hindutva. This is where the likes of Praveen Swamidelight in veiled warnings about Hindutva and hold out prophecies of doom. Swami is the associate editor of The Hindu and this is what he wrote in his article:

“For India, there are several important lessons. Like's Europe's mainstream right-wing parties, the BJP has condemned the terrorism of the right — but not the thought system which drives it. Its refusal to engage in serious introspection, or even to unequivocally condemn Hindutva violence, has been nothing short of disgraceful. Liberal parties, including the Congress, have been equally evasive in their critique of both Hindutva and Islamist terrorism.

Besieged as India is by multiple fundamentalisms, in the throes of a social crisis that runs far deeper than in Europe, with institutions far weaker, it must reflect carefully on Mr. Brevik's story — or run real risks to its survival.”

In a follow-up article Praveen Swami quotes Breivik’s references to the UPA’s appeasement of muslims in India and the possible attempt to destroy Hindu culture itself. I have reproduced the ‘Rivers of blood’ speech of Enoch Powell in my previous post. It wouldn’t be untrue to state that many governments in Europe, particularly Britain, have followed an extremely mindless vote-bank policy that has swamped their societies with immigrants unwilling to integrate into their societies. In particular, there has been rising and widespread anger against muslim immigrants, especially those from the Indian subcontinent, who have campaigned against everything that these European democracies value. From special rights for their community to Islamic Sharia law they have demanded everything and even gotten quite a bit of it. Some have gone to the extent of campaigning for and demanding Islamic law in some of these countries. Britain would be a good example of such campaigns.

My attempt is not to hang Praveen Swami. He is otherwise a good writer and commentator. I just believe it is outrageous to even read or make sense of a deranged individual’s motives for such acts. He is “God’s lonely man” and in his sick mind will seek to find sources and inspiration that will confirm his convictions. But democracies across the world, particularly India, must realise once and for all that all their citizens need to come under the bracket of “equality”. Policies and practices which consistently seek to create divisions in society will inspire even more dangerous lunatics. This is not to suggest that there will be no such lunatics but governments need not seek to inspire them.

The leftist-media, Praveen Swami included, likes to talk about right and left wing and liberal and centrist. This is the mumbo-jumbo behind which truth is brushed aside and facts glossed over. It has to take an extreme lunatic to even vaguely term the Congress party “liberal”. How exactly is the Congress party liberal? I doubt Swami or any of the media commentators can explain that. Since independence (maybe from even before) the Congress has been nothing but an extension of the communists. I would even dare any of these media liberals to clearly define and explain what exactly the Congress ideology is. I guess it’s the same “liberalism” that wanted to cling to power and impose Emergency on this nation. Wanna know their response? To even criticism, some of it jerky reaction, Praveen Swami has created a separate category: “#idiotwatch”! Such is the contempt for people not as bright as he is. He had perhaps hoped that many of the so called left-liberals would jump on to that word and make it trend on Twitter. Didn’t happen!

In India we currently live under one of the most corrupt and dangerous governments we have ever had. Scams, improprieties, corruption, illegal invasion of privacy, spying on its own citizens and even corruption in the judiciary are all hallmarks of a totalitarian regime and an invitation to disaster. This need not be from the right or left wing alone. There may be many individual lunatics with no ideology but with sufficient belief in their cause to impose havoc and tragedy on innocent citizens. But for Praveen Swami and many others in the media to try and pin a major share of such lunacy on Hindutva is also another extremism that confronts India. I thought the privilege of that lunacy was reserved for the likes of Digvijay Singh and P. Chidambaram.

Breivik’s manifesto has references to various other sources of inspiration including Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch, English DefenceLeague and even Geert Wilders. His actions run quite contrary to the sources of his inspiration. So Praveen Swami and others in the media would do well to save us their delusions.

Evil lunatics do not need outside inspiration. Evil IS their only inspiration.

Recall Teesta’s Padma Shri & Give Her The Padma-Sh!t Award!

It is not the first time that the Supreme Court of India has rapped the knuckles of Teesta Setalvad. This self-styled 'washing-machine of justice' for riot victims has been exposed over and over again. Some of the stinging comments of the SC in its latest rap concerning letters Setalvad has written to the Geneva-based Office of High Commissioner on Human Rights (OHCHR) include the following (From The Daily Pioneer):

Ø  “We can’t allow ourselves to be guided by any other agency. If day-to-day proceedings in this court are to be reported to that (international) organisation, it amounts to direct interference.”

Ø  “(for) All those cases monitored by us, we don’t want any communication in future with OHCHR.”

Ø  “This is not a plain and simple letter. It does say so many things about what is happening in courts which has no concern with the said organisation,”

Ø  “Will they be keeping track of investigation when we are monitoring,” and said, “We don’t appreciate such letters sent to foreign country.”

Ø  “It seems you (Teesta) have more confidence in them than us,” requiring to know “will they provide protection to witnesses, can they provide assistance to us.”

Ø  “Tomorrow even our proceedings will be sent to them.”  “Are they (OHCHR) their disciplinary authority”.

There is absolutely no more doubt that Teesta Setalvad has wantonly craved publicity and fame by exploiting the victims of riots. Sometime back the SIT investigating the Gujarat riots had also rapped her for fraudulent affidavits. Very recently one of her own former colleagues has turned into a witness against her. And for the second time in her life she had recently sought Anticipatory Bail!

Well, that is one individual called Teesta Setalvad clamouring for her 15 minutes of fame mocking every institution of this country and trying to internationalise national issues when those were being directly handled by the SC. But what about our media? The NDTVs and the CNN-IBNs continue to host this crook on various issues as if she is some Mother Theresa. Little does it occur to these media channels that frequently foisting this tainted person on the people of this nation is as good as justifying her acts and insulting the intelligence of viewers.

For all her misdeeds and untruths the UPA government rewarded her with a Padma Shri. Just like the Padma Shris were gifted to media crooks like Barkha and Rajdeep. It is time that the UPA seriously recognises their mistake and calls back the Padma Shri gifted to Teesta Setalvad.

Even otherwise, such national awards should be scrapped straightaway as political parties have not shown the maturity to analyse the worthiness of those who were given such awards. This does not make all the recipients unworthy. But a national honour has to be reserved for at least a life time of work which provides enough time to judge and analyse a person’s true contributions to the nation. While Barkha Dutt has been exposed as a lobbyist, Teesta Setalvad’s offences are even more serious. She has transacted with untruths, tried to defame the nation’s courts by internationalising issues being handled by them.

I now believe the CAG should be authorised to go into the funding of organisations like Citizens For Justice run by Teesta and many such organisations that receive funding from all over. Such NGOs should also be banned from collecting public funds.

A corrupt or convicted army-man is stripped of his medals and even uniform. A corrupt sportsman is stripped of his medals and titles. Why should it be any different for other civilians who have proven to be crooked and anti-national? I respect the Padma Shri award, but in case of Teesta Setalvad the Padma Shri should be called back. 

She deserves an award called PADMA SH!T !

‘Terror’s Creed..’: More Poppycock From Rajdeep Sardesai

Let me first reproduce excerpts from what Rajdeep Sardesai has written on his blog at CNN-IBN: (Read the full post here)

“ If chain smses are a measure of the 'national' mood, then its clear what the popular opinion has been after every terror attack in recent times. "Not every Muslim is a terrorist, but every terrorist is a Muslim" was a familiar sms after every such incident. But now ...... there could be a twist in the tale. "If every terrorist is a Muslim, has Swami Aseemanand converted to Islam?" is the new counter sms....... So far, terror was seen either as a cross-border phenomenon or part of a larger 'jehadist' mindset. Now, if investigators are to be believed, there are at least a dozen terror incidents, stretching across several states, which have been masterminded by terror groups inspired by Hindutva.... When a Rajnath Singh as BJP president visits Malegaon blast accused Sadhvi Pragya Thakur and claims she is 'innocent' and is being harassed by the state government, he is taking a political stance incompatible with the rule of law. Has he, or any BJP leader for that matter, attempted to ever empathise with innocent Muslim youth who may also be facing similar charges? Similarly, when senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh attends the release of a book on 26/11 that describes the attack as a RSS-Mossad-CIA 'conspiracy', then he is only legitimizing those forces who are choosing to see terror through a prism of religious hatred. Why doesn't he unambiguously reject such elements rather than flirt with them” ?

To start with, after every stupid utterance of Digvijay Singh he can be mostly seen on CNN-IBN with Sardesai. Why didn’t Sardesai ever ask him the questions instead of asking them on his blog? While claiming BJP has not empathised with innocent Muslim youth who may be facing false charges Rajdeep dupes his readers by not asking the right question. Who is empathising with Afzal Guru? And for what reason?

It is the serious ineptness of the UPA in allowing killers like Afzal Guru or the killers of Rajiv Gandhi to defy justice that spurs anger among citizens. So is Aseemanand innocent? I don’t give a damn! If he is guilty, screw him and sentence him to death or life. So why is Rajdeep not highlighting the fact that Aseemanand, in his confession, clearly mentioned his acts were a ‘bomb-for-bomb’ tactic. Does it not tell him something? Or does Rajdeep think the nation is a bunch of idiots who can’t tell the difference? But if a scholar like Rajdeep Sardesai cannot distinguish between unprovoked acts of terrorism and acts of revenge then he is as good as any other Congress moron, chief among them being Digvijay Singh. Rajdeep lives in denial when he refuses to acknowledge that what he calls ‘Hindutva’ terror is not inspired by religion or Hinduism but by 'revenge'. In stark contrast much of Islamic Terror is clearly inspired by religious scriptures. The emails of Indian Mujahideen, various Islamic websites quote religious scriptures as the basis of their terror attacks. I need not go as far as referring to the Quran being used to supplement the diet of Islamic Terror to educate Rajdeep.

The media crooks ran campaigns to seek justice for the killers of Jessica Lall and some others. Where is the campaign to carry out the sentence against those who attacked the nation and our parliament and killed our jawans? To now see this self-righteous approach by a biased media crook is simply disgusting. The politicians are scumbags and no one doubts that. It’s the media that is more corrupted. It is the media that divides the nation more than politicians. Rajdeep happened to be one who reported on the Gujarat riots and even received awards for it. Will he explain why his channel never highlighted Hindu deaths in those riots? Is it because more muslims died? By that logic the fact that Islamic terror is a universal phenomenon is why it gets that tag and that is why Hindu terror cannot be given that tag because a few individuals resorted to revenge killings. And Hindus are not defending any Hindu killers. In contrast muslim clerics praise the terrorists and Osama is a hero to many muslims. How does Rajdeep explain that? Can Rajdeep explain why he has never managed to question that scholar Rahul Gandhi who equated RSS with SIMI?

As for the BJP members defending any Hindu killers, Rajdeep needs to ask himself a question. How did a party with just 2 seats 25 years ago in the parliament come to this strength? How did it gain such a prominent voice? These questions might give him some answers if he ever asked himself. But honesty is not a strong point in our media

If the focus of Sardesai’s post under reference is politiicisation of terror then he himself is the one to blame, along with other media crooks in the business. Who puts up two politicians of different hue after every terror attack or arrest on TV channels? Who interviews Digvijay Singh after every stupid utterance of his? Mind you, reporting what some politician has said is fine, but why give them all a platform for discussion or interview them after every incident or arrest or developing story? More than the politicians it is media crooks like Rajdeep Sardesai who could be held responsible for dividing the nation on communal lines and polarising the population because of their biased and slanted reporting.

This is the very same Rajdeep who tweeted how Salman Taseer was a liberal who loved his wine and women when the guy was killed. That should have been enough evidence for any moron to understand that Islamic terror is not just a threat to others but to muslims themselves. If someone can be killed for just questioning blasphemy laws you can imagine how strong the motivation for Islamic Terrorism can be. The underlying principle and cause for religious terrorism is INTOLERANCE! And intolerance is not a feature of Hinduism as a religion but predominantly a feature of Islam and its followers. Two Sikh guards killed Indira Gandhi. Do we call that Sikh terrorism? Yet most accusations of Hindu terror will invariably start with Godse,as if that was some terrorist act. Acts of deranged men are not consistent with systematic terror. Islamic terror has been systematic, consistent and religion-driven over centuries. For Rajdeep’s benefit I have once again put up the statistical pic from “Thereligionofpeace.com’

Rajdeep Sardesai would do well to himself listen to the advice given by B.Raman which he quotes at the end of his post : “They should just shut up and let the investigators do their job!" That piece of advice should hold good for media crooks like Rajdeep too!

Finally Mr. Rajdeep Sardesai, Terror’s creed is NOT violence. It is terror itself! Violence is merely the physical outcome. Don’t believe me? Search and take a look at all the Fatwas issued and you will find an answer there! When you are robbed of your freedom, religious and otherwise, through threats that too is terror. The ultimate robbery being your life itself! If we were living in Saudi Arabia, you and I may not be writing our blogs. You and I are able to do so because of the absence of Hindu Terror. Grow up and get real!

Digivijay Singh Should Take A Lie-Dectector Test

Read 'Digvijay Singh -Wag The Dog'. The BSNL phone records proof that DS claims to have produced require scrutiny and investigation. No one has questioned DS better than Subramanian Swamy. Here's a DNA report on the statement of Swamy:

"The photocopy of the telephone records that Singh produced before TV cameras needs to be scrutinised since the telephone number on which a call was made from Singh's telephone was to a general SIT number in Mumbai and not to any of the two numbers on which Karkare could be accessed," Swamy said. All the statements made by DS clearly appear to be dubious, contradictory and in some cases outright lies. The media appears to have lapped up the nonsensical proof provided by DS without any corroboration by the MTNL (Bombay operators of the landline which he seemed to have called). Besides, even that is absolutely no evidence that he actually spoke to Hemant Karkare.

The only truth behind this whole episode is the intent of the Congress (I) and Digvijay Singh to throw more dirt at Hindus and to distract from the season of scams.

There is one way to resolve this. Since this concerns a serious investigation into the 26/11 attacks Digvijay Singh should be put through a lie-detector test. If he has the guts, let him take one ! Or else, this particular episode in his stupidity will remain a lie forever.

Digvijay Singh - Wag The Dog?

Since the series of UPA scams broke out Digvijay Singh (DS) has been in the news. Mostly for the wrong reasons. Well, I would think that’s the job assigned to him. To muddy the picture and create confusion and to distract from the scams. He first starts by attending a book launch of ‘26/11 an RSS Conspiracy’ by his friend Aziz Burney. There he makes some comments about Hindu Terror and how Hemant Karkare, the ATS Officer, feared for his life.

Mind you, DS reiterates that he is in no doubt that Pakistani terrorists were responsible for 26/11 and Karkare’s death. So why would a person attend the book launch of something called ‘26/11 an RSS Conspiracy’? That book doesn’t sound like a romantic love story or any work of fiction. Does it? And since then DS has been on a roll with all kinds of confusing and contradictory statements. The mainstream media laps it all up like a faithful dog without any questions.

Here’s what DS first said (Dec 11):

"I had spoken to him three and a half hours...It was between 6 and 7 pm on 26/11.... I was very shocked when I came to know that he was killed", he told reporters today. (My view: If this were true, then DS would have been speaking to Karkare while he was putting on the supposed bullet-proof jacket and then all the way to his death...) Three and a half hours? A working ATS officer speaks for three and a half hours to a non-working has been? (I want that job!!)

When asked about phone records he stated that BSNL does not maintain records beyond 14 months. That itself was surprising. I was under the impression that given the terrorist threats cell phone companies were supposed to maintain records for seven years. But never mind that, he manages to get the BSNL records after all. So whether BSNL or DS lied about the 14 months is another matter altogether.

He later said (with phone records on Jan 5):

The call was placed at 5.44 pm. Singh said, “I called up Karkare on the ATS office phone number listed on the website.” Singh had earlier maintained that he had spoken Karkare on his mobile phone number; now he has cited ATS board number. It still does not constitute indisputable proof that Karkare had spoken to him.

He knew Hemant Karkare well and for long for the Officer to be confiding in him and yet he didn’t have his number? He had to find it on a website? Well that’s possible, after all we all search for our close friends’ phone numbers on websites, don’t we? Imagine DS hanging around somewhere with nothing to do and so he decided to search for Hemant Karkare's phone number on a website.That's totally credible!

TOI reports: According to the documents, Singh called Maharashtra ATS number 022-23087336 from his BSNL mobile number 09425015461. Karkare and he talked for about six minutes.

India Today reports: The BSNL call records apparently show that Karkare called Singh from his office landline on that fateful day. The call was made at 5:44 PM and lasted three minutes. Digvijay said the call was made on his mobile phone. 

Why can’t the mediacrooks make up their mind on how long DS actually talked? And to whom? Why should anyone believe that because DS called a landline number in the ATS office at Mumbai that he actually spoke to him? And the time of the call, of course, is another issue too. First DS said it was between 6 and 7 pm and the records show 5.44 pm. Fine, after over two years a slight variation in time is acceptable. But how long did he talk? 3 Minutes? 6 Minutes? Three and a half hours? And who actually made the call to whom? DS to Karkare or Karkare to DS?

And most of all, why did DS call Hemant Karkare at all? Is there a reason? If it was just a friendly courtesy call one would have thought DS would have called Karkare’s mobile number which initially he had claimed he had. Given that it’s the BSNL which has provided proof of his call it implies it was DS who called that landline number from his mobile. So one can safely conclude that Karkare definitely didn’t make a call to DS. But did he actually receive the call from DS? Seems unlikely, especially because dead men tell no tales.

Aziz Burney may not be the only one to hatch conspiracy theories. A wag mentioned to me that DS called Karkare because DS already knew that Karkare was going to die. Isn't that possible? Isn't it possible that DS suddenly decided to call Karkare because he knew the officer was going to die? This is another angle that investigators should look into as well. 

DS may have launched that book about the 26/11 Conspiracy but unfortunately a pigeon again told me what book he actually reads. So I have just one line that describes both the Congress (I) and Digvijay Singh – Wag The Dog!

Update: (Jan 7) If DS has produced BSNL proof then that has to be his mobile call to the ATS landline number. That landline number has to be an MTNL number since Bombay is operated by MTNL. Why won't the media seek a corroboration from MTNL on the call?
